| Medicated blocks, as with all self-fed cattle products, must be provided
to animals which are supplied with adequate roughage and/or forage at all
times.
Self-feed Kay Dee 20 Block
with BOVATEC® as the sole source of salt to cattle. Locate blocks
near water supply and in cattle loafing areas permitting at least one
block for every 10 head of cattle. Maintain adequate Kay Dee 20
Block with BOVATEC® supply at all times to assure continuous
intake by adding blocks when each block is about half consumed.
It is essential that cattle fed
medicated feed blocks have been adapted to non-medicated block consumption
for at least two weeks prior to medicated block feeding. Cattle that are
not adapted to block supplementation may not consume the product at the
proper level or they may over-consume the product due to inadequate prior
supplementation.
Adequate Kay Dee 20 Block
with BOVATEC® consumption is required at all times to assure
effective drug activity. It is essential that good block husbandry
practices be followed at all times. Block feeding techniques include but
are not limited to a variety of practices. Increased consumption may often
be obtained by moving feeding stations into shaded or loafing areas,
closer to water source, increasing blocks available to the animals or
combinations of these practices. Decreased consumption may often be
obtained by the reverse of the above practices.
Kay Dee 20 Block with
BOVATEC® should always be fed in protected feeders.
Adequate pasture/roughage should
be available to assure cattle will consume not less than 7 ounces, nor
more than 1 pound 5 ounces per head per day. |
