Stablemate Kaydets are designed to be fed
free choice to horses, provided they have not been mineral-starved. If
animals have not previously been fed mineral free choice, they may over
consume. Mineral-starved animals should first be hand fed Stablemate
Kaydets, and the daily allowance should be increased gradually until
they start leaving a little in the feeder. When this point is reached,
free choice feeding can begin.
- Mix in grain ration or feed free choice at the following rates:
- Idle Mature Horses: 2 to 3 ounces per head per day.
- Working Horses: 3 to 4 ounces per head per day.
- Foals, Weanlings and Ponies: 1 to 2 ounces per head per day.
- Growing Horses: 2 ounces per head per day.
- Gestating Broodmares: 3 ounces per head per day.
- Lactating Broodmares: 4 ounces per head per day.
